The file tools you keep googling, in one app.

Compress a photo, merge PDFs, transcribe an interview, format JSON. Dogubako is 249 tools, free and open source, that run on your computer or on your own server.

An animated recreation of the Dogubako app. A photo is dropped on the window and Dogubako suggests tools for it. Typing “smaller” moves Compress Images to the top, and running it shrinks the photo from 4.2 MB to 1.1 MB. Then four vacation photos are dropped and someone types “remove the location from these and make them smaller for email”. Dogubako runs Remove Image Metadata and Compress Images, lists both steps, shows the four smaller files and offers Undo. Last, the command palette finds every subtitle tool as “subtitle” is typed.

Half a minute in the app.

  1. Drag a photo onto the window. It lands on the bench, drawn as what it is: a print.

  2. Dogubako ranks the tools that fit the file. Type “smaller” and Compress Images moves to the top.

  3. The original and the result side by side, with the size change: 4.2 MB down to 1.1 MB.

  4. Four vacation photos, one sentence. It runs Remove Image Metadata, then Compress Images, lists each step and leaves the originals alone. Undo takes it back.

  5. The palette searches all 249 tools as you type, by name and by what they do. “subtitle” finds seven, in Video and Speech.

The launch trailer

The launch trailer is on its way.

It will play right here, in this frame, as soon as it’s ready.

Each tool shows its work.

Every tool gets a screen that fits the job: a transcript that follows the waveform, pages you can count, a size you can aim for. A few of them, running right here.

Transcribe Audio / Video

Offline speech to text with whisper.cpp. Text, SRT, WebVTT, JSON or Markdown, with optional word timestamps.

speech.transcribe

JSON Formatter & Validator

Format, minify, validate and sort keys, with the exact line and column of any error.

dev.json

Merge PDFs

Combine PDFs in the order you choose, optionally taking only some pages of each.

pdf.merge

Compress Video

Shrink a video by quality level or to a target file size, with a two-pass bitrate.

video.compress

File Hash

MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, SHA3-256, BLAKE3, CRC32 or XXH3 checksums of files or text.

files.hash

Redact Regions

Blur, pixelate or black out regions of an image: faces, license plates, addresses.

image.redact

Clean CSV Data

Trim cells, blank out N/A and NULL, turn dates into ISO 8601, drop empty rows and columns.

data.clean

One tool, four ways in.

Each tool is described once. The app’s form, the command, the HTTP call and the MCP call are generated from that description and run by the same engine, so they always agree.

Your files go where Dogubako runs, and nowhere else.

Nothing to sign up for: no account with us, no Dogubako cloud, no telemetry.

    In the desktop app

Files are processed on your computer, by engines that run on it.

    On your own server

Files go to your server and stay there. You decide who gets an account.

    • Network & Web tools go online, because that is their job. Optional extras, such as speech recognition and voices, download only when you ask for them.
    • Typing a sentence instead of picking a tool is off until you turn it on. Then your request, the file names and what the tools report back go to the service you connect; the files themselves don’t. Connect one that runs on your own computer and even that stays local.

    Self-hosting and agents

Run it on your own server

Build it with Docker Compose on any Linux machine. The web UI works on phones, and everyone gets an account of their own.

Give your agents the same tools

MCP, an HTTP API and a CLI, with one token per agent that only opens the tools you list.

    The alpha isn’t out yet.

The first release, 0.1.0-alpha.1, is for Macs with Apple silicon on macOS 15 or later. Windows and Linux builds come after it. Until then you can build Dogubako from source, or run it on a Linux server with Docker Compose.
